WHOIS API with RDAP Fallback

One WHOIS lookup API call returns registrar, creation and expiry dates, status and nameservers as clean JSON. When a registry supports RDAP we use it, and fall back to classic WHOIS when it does not.

One request, normalised fields

WHOIS output differs from registry to registry. DomSDK parses it into the same JSON shape every time, so your code reads registrar, created and expires without custom parsers.

  • Registrar, status and nameservers
  • Creation, update and expiry dates
  • RDAP first, WHOIS fallback
  • Same key and credits as every other suite
Request
$ curl https://api.domsdk.com/v1/whois?domain=example.com \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY"

The same WHOIS lookup is available as a tool on the DomSDK MCP server, so Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients can check a domain without extra code.
